Uswing's international story began with one short putt and two different reads.
October 21, 2019 - Macao
At a Pro-Am invitational tournament in Macao, Uswing founder Warren Fong played alongside Phil Mickelson, the six-time major champion. On the 14th hole, they faced a four-foot putt. Mickelson believed the ball should enter from the left side. Warren saw a different line.
Warren trusted the view through his Uswing sunglasses and his read proved correct. The moment was small in distance but significant for a young Chinese golf brand: the product had helped its founder see a subtle green detail clearly enough to stand by his judgment beside one of the game's most accomplished players.
From an idea to golf-specific equipment
The moment was possible because Uswing had started with a real golfer's frustration. Ordinary sunglasses reduced sunlight but did not reliably address visual-distance shift or the challenge of reading grass direction and slope. Warren assembled specialists in optics, physics, chemistry and ergonomics, and the team spent five years developing a professional golf sunglass around those needs.
A champion takes notice
Mickelson was impressed by the result in Macao. Beginning with The Match: Champions for Charity in May 2020, he was seen wearing the Uswing sunglasses Warren had given him. The brand then appeared on more international tournament stages, including Mickelson's 2021 PGA Championship victory, where he wore the Uswing Golfer 002.
The story behind Uswing is not that eyewear makes the putt. It is that better visual information can help a golfer make a clearer decision and commit to it.
From that four-foot read to courses around the world, Uswing continues to combine golf, technology and design in one purpose-built piece of equipment: see better, feel better and putt better.
